  HISTORY OF THE DOG PARK
The park was conceived and planned by John Lupo and Rick Wesselhoff and a team of dedicated volunteers in 2004. The city owns the property and Sedona Dog Park Inc was founded as a 501c3 non-profit corporation to raise the funds to build the park. Construction included fence, parking lot, shade structure paver walkway and entry areas, canine and human water fountains, info kiosk and more. After several years of fundraising and going through the appropriate channels of the City of Sedona - we broke ground and opened the park in Spring of 2007. Sedona Dog Park Inc handed over the park back to the city in July of 2010 to keep costs low and ensure the future of the park for years to come. This community amenity has enriched the lives of many of use who use the park and is a great asset for Sedona visitors as well. We did it. Thanks for your donations.
